Aspen Park Veterinary Hospital was established by Dr. H.C. “Doc” Gurney, Jr. (1930-2023) over 40 years ago. Doc Gurney developed a wide reaching reputation for doing everything possible to help his patients. He believed in treating the whole animal, and was a pioneer in the fusion of eastern medicine with traditional western veterinary practices. Doc respected the power of the bond formed between an animal and their people, and he always kept that in mind with all he did.
APVH, now led by holistic Veterinarian Dr. Jena Questen (DrQ), is the continuation of Doc Gurney’s innovative work and commitment to animal welfare. DrQ is a Certified Aquatic Veterinarian, a Certified Professional Animal Trainer, and former President of the World Aquatic Veterinary Medical Association. She is also certified in acupuncture, herbal remedies, and a variety of eastern medicine practices. When she's not providing care to pets, you can find DrQ running the ResqRanch, a 501c3 nonprofit animal sanctuary specializing in the rescue of wild mustangs and off track thoroughbreds.

Very kind, caring staff. They are really looking out for the well-being of the animals and their people!
Dr. Q and her amazing staff got my dog Kozmo in with no notice when we were returning from a camping trip where he tore a deep gash in is right leg. The courtesy to work him in late in the afternoon, provide such amazing care, clean him up and staple the wound got us all home safe and sound! Dr Q. also set us up with a cone-of-shame, antibiotics, probiotics, and pain relievers. Kozmo is doing GREAT, he's getting used to the cone and the wound is healing BEAUTIFULLY. Thank you Aspen Park Vet Hospital for caring for animals and people so well. We are grateful we found you!
Exceptional staff here. They are kind to both people and animals. Additionally, they spend extra time discussing details regarding the condition of your pet. Highly recommended.
Fantastic experience yet again with Dr.Q. So reassured every time we call or visit. Our family members are lovingly taken care of and we really appreciate the very low stress environment. Thank you for everything, Dr. Q!
I have been taking my cat, Katy, to see Dr. Q for years. Last December, Katy presented with some health concerns and I was able to get an appointment very quickly. Dr. Q and her staff have been amazing at helping me navigate the health concerns with Katy! At each appointment, Dr. Q has been great at explaining everything to me and making sure my questions are answered! In between appointments, the staff has also been very responsive if I have questions or concerns come up! Thank you Dr. Q and staff! Katy and I are very grateful for all the support and help!
I just wanted to send over a quick note to thank Dr. Questen and team for all the help with our dog Lily.
Our phone consultations made all the difference and gave me the confidence to have Lily's teeth procedure done. She finally had her procedure Decemeber 3rd and recovered very nicely. This is such a relief and a huge weight off our shoulders, and we couldn't have done it without you. The pancreatic enzymes and diet changes you suggested completely cleared up the digestive issues she was having, and she's just doing so well now.
Thank you, thank you, thank you from the bottom of our hearts. You have made such a difference in our lives and the health of our pup!
