Dr. Jena Questen
Dixie is our newest resident at the ResqRanch. She is 30 years old! That is quite an advanced age for a horse, but look at how spry and energetic she is! I hope I am feeling that good when I am her age!
Today I am grateful for my body’s ability to heal (as I see the yellow bruises on my legs from all our hard days of barn clean up last weekend). I am grateful I spent time with Natalia yesterday despite the million other things I could or should have been doing during that time. I am grateful for the sunrise, and that I woke up today, and that my body feels better today than it did when I woke up yesterday. I am grateful for my dogs, for hot water, for my fish, and for my bearded dragon Treasure who we have had for nearly a decade now, and who remains a wonderful, fascinating, little friend to share life with. Much to be grateful for. It is nearly silent here in the early morning just as dawn is making an appearance, the koi fish are being more vocal than the rooster! Smacking at the surface of the water, begging for breakfast. Who knew fish could try so hard to communicate? They are wonderful and amazing.
What about you, Animal Loving Angel? Have you been choosing joy for your life whenever you can? I sure hope so. And gratitude for
the little things? And the big things? What about your animal relationship journey? Is there room for improvement there? Could some of the little annoyances you may have with your horse, dog, or cat, possibly be improved? Do you have nagging concerns about their health? Remember, I am here for you, no matter the animal, no matter the health or training question. Nothing is too small or insignificant. Our animals mean to much to us, to not give them 110%, am I right?
So if there is anything at all I can do for you, please, simply ask. Today I wish for you a most wonderful day full of joyful surprises, laughter, friendship, and meaningful connections. Be kind to yourself, and others, and don’t forget to admire, touch, or hug cute animals, any chance you get. Wishing you the best day ever!
