Dr. Jena Questen

Yesterday at work was quite busy (grateful for that),I had a good team by my side working well together (grateful for that), and we got home early enough still to spend a couple of hours with the horses (grateful for that). I also went along the entire fence line yesterday looking for any signs of anything unusual which might have contributed to Chilli’s colic yesterday, but instead all we saw were 2 large coyotes sleeping out in my back field. I also saw an entire flock of huge wild turkeys walking down the road yesterday (grateful for all the wildlife around me).

We fed the horses a bunch of extra hay when we got home, and after they had about an hour to fill up, we took the fillies out for a good grooming, a little walk, and then I sat on Natalia bareback while she was led around for a few circles in both directions, and she was of course perfect.

Then we did the exact same lesson with Cesar, and he did not offer to buck or act up in any way. A few steps he took he looked happy, and I few steps he took he looked angry. But at least he got some attention and he didn’t pull any shenanigans. Fingers crossed we can rebuild our relationship. Sometimes I feel like I am trying to rebuild my relationship with Cesar over, and over again. It is a little like life, am I right? Trying to overcome the same issue, which gets frustrating and old, know what I mean? But what choice do we have, if we woke up today, our job is to simply find a new way, again, to overcome those issues until the day they are behind us for good. Then we have gained some wisdom, which hopefully we will then share with someone else, to help them not have to make the same mistakes quite as often. I hope you will find someone to mentor in this way. I am grateful for the chance to try again.

Well it’s Sunday, the day of rest, so I hope you do a little of just that. Even though if you are anything like me, I am sort of eager to get back to work, now with the holidays behind us. I am eager to get back to a more normal routine, and get on with the plans and goals for 2026, know what I mean?! Have a wonderful day today, do something nice for yourself, and someone else today, learn a little something new, and leave this day satisfied with the way you spent it. And if part of your journey is to give to a worthy non-profit, we can use all the help we can get https://www.coloradogives.org/organization/Resqranch, thanks for being here you Animal Loving Angel, have the best day ever!
