Dr. Jena Questen
It’s pizza Saturday! And Chilli and Natalia look like they are ready to get this party started this morning! If you have been looking for an excuse to get some delicious BeauJo’s pizza, look no further than today, and be sure to tell them you came to support the ResqRanch, and feed some horses FOR FREE! 20% of your pre-tax food and drinks will be donated to the ResqRanch. So no need to pay anything extra and we STILL get donations to feed the rescue animals. It’s a win-win! Chilli and Natalia thank you in advance!
Besides that, today I hope you have plans to have the most fun day ever! Did you have fun yesterday? I rode Rhoen for a while, bareback, and just spent time sitting on her and helping her get used to carrying a person around. She still gets anxious about it. I watched her nostrils flare in and out, and I tried to match my breathing to hers, and slow it down. We practiced touching cones, placing her feet on the mat, and walking over a ground pole. A couple of times she tried to rear up (she likes to do that) which was eye opening on a horse you are riding bareback. But she wasn’t trying to throw me, and then I smiled and realized this was the best part of my day. I was not afraid. I am grateful for that! I did my best to make it easy and comfortable for her. When we were all done, she didn’t ignore me, so I have to think that I accomplished my mission. I am grateful for not causing her too much stress.
I also got a lot of work done yesterday, and for that I am grateful. I worked on getting our Friday long form video ready for publication. And I worked on our Shopify store, and our ResqRanch calendar so we will have them ready for our Pet Pictures with Santa event. It’s not too early to secure your spot, you can do so here https://www.resqranch.org/pet-pics-with-santa-signup
I am grateful I woke today and got the chance to try again. Sometimes doing a lot of computer work leaves me feeling drained and uncertain that I did enough, or spent my time wisely. I have to trust everything will work out like it should. I have to concentrate on what I have already gotten done this year, not doubt that I got enough done yesterday. And as we build the calendar, I realize we did accomplish a lot this year. We got new shelters for the horses, the Veteran’s Pathways project is well on the way, we got an automatic front gate, a Gator, much of that was done through donations. We also had a great racetrack event, and I started a new weekly class offering the TrailBlazers. If spending an evening learning about and being with horses sounds like fun to you, you can sign up for the class here https://www.resqranch.org/trailblazers-a
I have much to be grateful for, my kids, my health, my fish, my truck, clothes, dishes, and the freedom to go forward on this day without having to be afraid I might get kidnapped on my way to work. We are lucky to live here.
I hope you have so much fun today! Guess what, I did look at myself in the mirror today and gave myself a pep talk, I dare you to do the same. Be kind to yourself today, and get out there and spend some time in nature, and with animals. That is my wish for you, that this weekend fills your cup and energizes you for the coming week.
Take care of yourself you Animal Loving Angel, the world needs you!
