Dr. Jena Questen

Or what do you think she’s saying? Mmmm leftover Christmas dinner? Or, is she dreaming of alfalfa hay?!

Today I am grateful for a gorgeous sunrise. That I got to enjoy a peaceful Christmas with my family, that we had a comfortable home to spend the holiday in, that I woke up today without ankle pain, and that we got all 9 back in safely yesterday when they had a little Christmas morning escape adventure.

How about you?

My favorite part of the day is when we went around the room and told each other where we wanted to be in one year, and in 8 years. Really got us all thinking 🤔

What about you? Where do you see yourself in 1 year? In 8 years? I hope it’s with family, and full of peace and joy.

The second best part of the day was doing a live video on YouTube of us trying to take Christmas pictures of each of the animals with a red ribbon around their neck. A old holiday tradition made new again. We didn't exactly achieve our goal but we had fun trying!

And then, just like that Christmas is behind us and life goes on. All we can do is make a plan, and have goals. I recently discovered the book The Art and Science of Storytelling. In it, it claims that for all humans the definition of happiness is achieving goals. Interesting stuff for sure, to realize goals don’t just keep you focused, they are quite literally what makes us happy 😊

So next time you’re feeling down, control the narrative by fixating on goals and plans for the future. Oh, and animals, fixating on them also brings happiness 🐈😸💜

And if part of your end of your goals includes supporting rescue animals, we would sure appreciate any and all the help we can get https://www.coloradogives.org/organization/Resqranch
