Dr. Jena Questen
Why is Friday the 13th bad? Statistically, it’s actually not. In fact, it’s a safer day because people are more cautious, isn’t that interesting?
Today I am grateful I woke up, that we only lost one tree in the wind yesterday, that we never lost power for any length of time in the storm, that the animals survived the weather unharmed, that I got through yesterday although it was not easy, and that my Friday video coming out tonight will be the most helpful one yet (I hope).
One of the best parts of my day yesterday was getting more comfortable picking up our rooster and carrying him around the house. I took him to a mirror and let him look at himself. He seemed to understand that it was him. We are still getting used to each other, but so far, nearly two weeks in, he has not yet once pecked at my hands or feet, or showed any aggression towards me. I am really trying hard to learn what all of his various little chicken sounds mean. He is definitely a talkative bird (and not just crowing), he always has some sort of babbling comment to make when I come into the room, when we turn on the tv, when we laugh out loud. He is trying to be a part of the conversation, and he is pretty darn adorable. He is already target trained, he will follow the target anywhere we want him to go and peck it for a reward. He is also crate trained, we just ask him to kennel up and he walks right into his travel kennel so he can go to work with me. He seems to be pretty potty trained in his big cage, he only poops on the potty pad, but to be honest, when he is out wandering around he will still sometimes poo on the ground, which is when we rush in and scoop him up, like training a puppy, and put him away and tell him that is not ok. I will keep you posted on if we can really get him fully house trained.
So it’s Friday, are you excited for the weekend? I sure hope so. But first we have to get through this day. We have to be courageous today. No matter the stressful situations this day may bring, we have to take a moment to inhale positivity, and exhale doubt and fear. Every stressful situation is here to help us learn something new. And it is only through challenge, that we create change and move closer towards our life’s purpose. So today, I hope your day is easy, fun, productive, and full of laughter and camaraderie with good people who support you, and make your life easier and more fun. This is how we raise our vibration and tune in to the higher frequencies of gratitude, love, and forgiveness. Oh, and of course, go goo-goo over beautiful animals, because like the little girl in the minions who hugs the giant stuffed unicorn and practically cannot contain her excitement about how “FLUFFY!!!!!” the toy is that overwhelming emotion is the surge of goodness that animals bring into our lives. And if you are here, you get it, you Animal Loving Angel, and I am glad you are here. Have the best Friday ever!
