I think the value of checking out your animal's mood, via protected contact, is often highly underestimated. It works with dogs and cats, too. Just stay on the other side of the door, or the fence, until they calm down, and show interest in you with self control. That is one way you can help get their mind in the right place, before getting on the same space with them. This gives you an opportunity to evaluate their mood, and whether or not they are safe to be with. If they ignore you, it is a clear message you don't want to ignore and instead take to heart and figure out how you can help them to want to be with you.
It’s Monday again, the start of a new week, another opportunity to crush it. Whatever, 'it' is. Yesterday I did a couple of live videos, but it was too cold out to do much with the horses. It’s so hard to go from nice 50 degree days to then suddenly having a couple of days of 19 F. My fingers hurt for hours yesterday after coming in from the cold and underestimating how bitter cold it was out there. The animals are uncomfortable too, and don’t like to be too cooperative. I don’t blame them. I am grateful I don’t have to stand outside all night in the weather, and I marvel at how they seem to do it so well. I still desperately want a barn for them, where we can get them all inside and in stalls, especially on bitter nights like right now. But honestly, I still wonder if some of them wouldn’t still be happier just loose in a corral with their friends, then cooped up in a stall. I suppose it will vary from time to time, and we will give them the option. When we have that big barn, that is. We appreciate in advance all of the ways, if you are reading this, you will help us make that happen, by donating, sharing our events, commenting on our videos, or simply giving us a good Google review. Thank you.
Today I am grateful for the beauty of the snow, for the mountains, for the trees, for everything I have, that I have been given another day of life, for our animals, and for the successful day I will have full of fun and ease. What about you, what are you grateful for this beautiful morning? I hope many things, and everything, from the warmth of a furnace, to a hot shower, to a warm cup of coffee. There are many blessings in this life for us to be grateful for, we simply have to look around and take the time to notice it. I hope you start this day by taking that time. And time to appreciate animals, yours, or just any of them. I would not want to live in a world without them. If we have to move off world one day, they better figure out how to have animals in space, don’t you agree?
Today, have faith that everything is just as it should be, everything is going to be ok, that you are doing alright, and that you deserve all good things. I hope you got a lot of rest this weekend, and are ready to move into this week with grace, ease, laughter, and joy. Ok, you Animal Loving Angel, now it’s time to get out there, and practice being just a little better today, than we were yesterday, for ourselves, for each other, and for our animals. Thank you for being here, and God bless!
