When I watched this video back again, I do think Chilli might be slighlty favoring her right hind hoof (the white one), and that is the one the farrier had the most problems with last Saturday. So she probably is resting more because that hoof is bothering her a bit, poor girl.

That also might have been what contributed to her behavior at the birthday party, where, Natalia was eager to join the party, while Chilli was unusually aloof and did not want to meet the guests. She really does seem to be a little traumatized by the entire experience. I am grateful she let me approach, and although she did get up, the fact she nuzzled my hand from a prone position still says a lot about her trust in me, and that is something to cherish.

Today I am grateful my back hurts less than it did yesterday, the rooster is being perfectly quiet right at this moment (he is a good boy), that the horses are all good this morning, that I have the whole day ahead of me to prepare for what's next, and that I have two healthy, happy children who are growing up into amazing humans. Much to be grateful for.
