Dr. Jena Questen
Good morning from Emblaze, a former racehorse, and her friends at the Rescue Ranch! Join us for a fun Kentucky Derby party on May 2nd at The Wild Game to learn more about Emblaze and our other amazing rescue animals. It's a great opportunity to celebrate these magnificent horses and support our mission.
If you are wondering about Chilli yesterday, yes of course she got the much needed attention she was craving. We took her for a walk and she got her first bite of spring grass. She was perfect the whole time, good girl!
Today's video is all about Emblaze, an off track Thoroughbred racehorse. She will be one of the featured rescues we will tell you about at our party. More info about the event can be found at Resqranch.org.
The event is our annual Kentucky Derby fundraiser party Saturday May 2nd at the Wild Game in Evergreen! It will surely be a lot of fun with a hat contest, prizes, mock betting, a silent auction and a nacho bar. Who doesn’t love a nacho bar? And it’s all for a great cause, to support the rescue animals at the Resqranch.
I had someone on social media make a comment about not wanting to support a ‘bloodsport’. To which I replied, then this is exactly the person who should attend. Because we are not so much celebrating the Derby, as we are celebrating horses, and helping to provide for some who raced, and we rescued. I hope you plan to be there.
Today I am grateful my daughter had fun at prom. I am grateful she made good decisions. I am grateful she got home safe back to me. I am grateful for her and that she is in my life, and such a wonderful person. I am grateful for the successful, fun times we had with the horses yesterday, and that Rhoen and Chilli both got their very first bites of green grass yesterday. (Sugar and Emblaze went for a walk and hand graze last week for their first time). I am grateful for the green grass just struggling and starting to grow after the snow of last Friday. I am grateful for the beautiful pink of the sunrise just making itself known, and the early morning cheerful chirp of the early birds. I am grateful for the moose that has been hanging out behind the hospital for the past few days and wonder if it will be there today to grace us with the wonder of its presence.
Welcome to Monday! I hope you had a relaxing weekend, but now, it is time to go out and share your gifts with the world. What are you looking forward to, today? Will you allow joy to find you? Do you trust your own timing? Move through this day with the gentle confidence you are in the right place, at the right time. Make space for ease, and wonder. Today, speak with kindness, and listen with care. Nourish what matters, and that includes yourself. I think that is often what I miss the most. So busy giving to others, it can be easy to forget to be kind to yourself. Today is a good day to start, by focusing on being kind to yourself. Who do you want to be today? How will you give? What are you grateful for? How can you grow?
Wishing you the most wonderful Monday, my Animal Loving Angel. You have everything you need, now get out there, shine your light, and make it a wonderful day!
