Today I am grateful for a super fun Mother’s Day yesterday.
First, we took Emblaze, Cesar, and Donkey for an adventure around the property, in full saddle gear for the first time. Donkey got pretty hot and tired carrying his pack saddle. It was the first time I noticed the heat of the day taking its toll, and the spring has just begun. Cesar was better than last weekend’s outing, and Emblaze was perfect. We kept it pretty easy on them and didn’t go as far this time, spending more time on steering and navigating and taking it easy, than trying to cover big distances just yet. If you are interested in a tutorial on leading horses, and overcoming some common issues check out this video here https://youtu.be/arIAYnJR6Cc
Next, we went to Idaho Springs and rode on the brand new Mighty Argo Gold Mine Gondola. It is a beautiful Gondola, easy to get to, and takes you up a steep mountain to the top where they have gorgeous views and a brand new wonderful multi level pavilion for hanging out. We thought it was well worth it. And I am grateful I got to go and experience it on its opening weekend!
Then, my oldest daughter made me a well thought out snack board to enjoy in front of the tv watching a movie, and some really nice socks because, well, who can’t use another pair of socks?!. I am grateful for her thoughtfulness, and for getting to spend some time with both of my girls. I also got a wonderful piece of Koi fish artwork that I just love from my younger daughter. It was a beautiful day and I am grateful for all the magical moments in it. I hope you had a special day, too,
Today, I am grateful I woke up, that I have a job to go to that I love, and that I get to be surrounded by positive people who only want to help others, and animals. I am very fortunate indeed.
Today at Aspen Park Vet Hospital, we will not only be helping take care of dogs and cats, but as I suspected, we have started to get multiple calls about sick fish, which is common in the springtime. And, surprisingly, I got a call last week from someone who wanted holistic vet care for 15 horses down in Woodland Park! That is quite a ways from here so not sure if she will be bringing them in or if I will be doing a long housecall all the day down there! However, I am also excited because we might have found another holistic vet to come and work at the hospital, which would be such a blessing. I will keep you posted on that.
I know it’s Monday, and at times that can seem discouraging. However, if you are lucky enough to wake up today, and to see the sun rise, then the world has need of your unique abilities and talents, and the best way to find joy, peace, and happiness, is to use those talents to become a little better person today than you were yesterday, and find a way to make someone else’s life a little, or a lot, better, happier, kinder, easier. How can you be a giver today? How can you carve out some time for some inner peace for yourself during this day?
I forgot to walk barefoot outside yesterday, again, perhaps you did, my Animal Loving Angel? I sure hope so, it’s healthy for you! And give yourself that high five in the mirror, because you are doing GREAT!
And remember, we are here for you in your journey with ALL of your beloved animals. Make it the best day ever!
