Dr. Jena Questen

Watch our heartwarming rescue horse morning routine as the herd wakes up on the ranch. Watch Dixie burst out of her stall, and Natalia, Rhoen and Emblaze demand treats. They all start the day with plenty of personality. This glimpse into farm life shows how our horses and donkey interact before heading out to graze. Won't you help us ensure they always enjoy such a charmed life? https://www.coloradogives.org/organization/Resqranch

Today I am grateful for so many things. Like, that I have auto insurance again after stumbling onto the fact we had not been covered since February! I am so grateful nothing happened to us during that time, and I am seriously considering giving my previous insurance carrier a negative review to warn others of how such a thing could even happen without you knowing!

I am grateful for Dr. Andrea (my acupuncturist) who held this really fun event event yesterday in her office, where we got a professional makeover and then pro head shots. We got free acupuncture and stimulating conversation about eastern medicine, the future with ai, and how this might all blend together to look over the coming years. I am excited to see my new head shots!

I am grateful that I went to the new local outside bar, dog park that just opened. I had been wanting to check it out without the dogs, first, and after the makeover was a great time. I spoke to two college kids about their future careers, the state of the veterinary community in our area, and finally, also about how ai is impacting their career prospects. I strongly encouraged them to start their own business's! Maybe, just maybe, my words had an impact on them.

I am also grateful we were able to get the horses back in just now without incident! After I filmed this video, I got a text from my neighbor letting me know the horses were in her front yard. Yikes! Had to postpone video editing to run out there and corral them back. Rhoen, Donkey, and Chilli came right back without an issue. Cesar and Natalia were the oneriest to get back in, sigh. Children!

Finally, I am just grateful for my life, my arms, my legs, my heart, my breath, my bed, my electronic devices, my washer and dryer, and comfortable socks.

Today the plan is to resume Donkey and Bento parade training practice, the rodeo and the parade are next weekend! Come walk with us, it will be so much fun! We also need volunteers for our booth.

And if a horse training clinic is on your bucket list, we have got you covered. We have a three day clinic coming up the weekend after the rodeo, which will be a refresh of the Horse Relationship Building Masterclass, and then moving on to problems on the ground, and whatever else specific issues you are having, even if those are riding problems. We will tailor the clinic to whatever the students needs are. And if cost is a barrier, we have some donation money set aside to offer a limited number of partial scholarships. Just email us and let us know what you can contribute. The link to the clinics is here https://www.resqranch.org/summer-courses-order-form

Finally, you Animal Loving Angel, what are you grateful for today? That it is TGIF? That you woke up today? Have you looked at yourself in the mirror and smiled at that beautiful soul lookng back at you, lately? Why not? It is harmless, and that person in the mirror could really use a high five from someone close to them, don't you agree? I tried to do at the gym this week. I always avoid my own eye contact, it makes me so uncomfortable usually. But I tried to catch myself, looking at myself a couple of times, and just tried to be kind, and I think, it really helped me have a better day in that moment. Such an easy thing to do, to take a moment to be kind to yourself, although sometimes it feels so strange. I encourage you to give it a try today, oh, and don't forget to get grounded and walk outside with your bare feet on the earth if you can. For those of us who live in the rocky mountains, this can be a real challenge!

Wishing you a day full of miracles and pleasant surprises! And remember, I am here for you, in the journey with all your animals, dogs, cats, horses, fish, and everything in between. If there is anything I can do for you, please ask.

Make it the best day ever, with all my love, as always!
