Dr. Jena Questen

Our rescued ranch horses are skipping the rodeo parade to enjoy a quiet weekend at home. See how our horses spend their days relaxing, eating fresh hay, and waiting to bond with our volunteers. It turns out, avoiding the crowds is exactly what these animals needed. Our Donkey, on the other hand, has stepped up to volunteer himself for the rigors of enduring huge crowds and thousands of imploring hands. Wish us luck as we endeavor to survive our first big parade! Better yet, come walk with us Saturday! Hope to see you at the parade or our booth we will be at on the rodeo grounds all weekend spreading the message of positive reinforcement horse training!

Today I am grateful for the opportunity to participate in the rodeo events this weekend. I am grateful we get the chance to be in the parade. I am grateful I was invited to go out for pizza last night, and while there, ran in to more friends. I am grateful I woke up today, and that I get to choose my own life, what I watch on TV, what I get to listen to, and for my many freedoms. Like the freedom to live with a rooster in my house! And I am so grateful that when I filmed a video with Natalia on Tuesday, she was SO excited and happy that she got singled out for a training session, that she literally leapt with all 4 feet off the ground, with joy! We unfortunately didn't get that on video, but geez, if your horse is so happy to train with you they are jumping for joy, that really says something!

What about you, it's your turn, Animal Loving Angel, to take a moment and think of things you are grateful for in this moment. Taking a moment to feel gratitude is the secret key to happiness in life. Have you thought lately about the people who love you, who are grateful you are alive? You might think about people you love, and appreciate them, but what about, thinking of all the people who love YOU, and appreciate that you are alive and breathing today. You deserve to be loved, and you are loved, and if they love you, you too, can love yourself, just as you are. So look in the mirror today and really see that person looking back. At how hard they try every day. You deserve love.

Wishing you all my best!
