Dr. Jena Questen

Get a behind-the-scenes look at the Evergreen Rodeo Parade morning prep. See how we get the animals ready for the big day, including a very patient donkey who stayed clean all night. This is a glimpse into the local tradition and the hard work that goes into our local rodeo parade appearance, and how difficult it is when you stick to using just positive reinforcement training to make it happen. Subscribe for more behind-the-scenes training life!

Today I am grateful we had a wonderfully successful practice run down main street downtown with Donkey yesterday. He was a big hit! And, he really enjoyed himself, no stress at all, he had fun! That is the poser of positive reinforcement.

Today I am grateful I am on my way to fulfilling a dream I have had of taking a rescue animal to the parade. I have never been in a parade before, I am nervous and excited!

Today I am grateful that I think I do have all of the items I need for our booth this weekend, and volunteers to help us run it so I don't have to be there the whole time and can make sure Donkey does ok after his big debut.

I am grateful my ankle hurts less this morning, because I do have a lot of walking to do today!

I am grateful for my kids who are going to help me make sure everything is ship shape for the busy weekend. I am grateful for all the people's lives we will get to touch this weekend by spreading our message of positive reinforcement animal training!

What about you, Animal Loving Angel? What are you excited for today? What are you looking forward to on this awesome weekend, the summer solstice too! A time of new beginnings. The year is half over. Are you excited about where you are and what the rest of the summer will bring? Whatever the case may be, be kind to yourself. You got this. We got this. Especially with our animals by our side.

Have a wonderful weekend everyone! Hope to see YOU at the Evergreen Rodeo! Although I am not always agree with everything that happens to animals at events like these, the only reform can come from the inside, with kindness, not trying to shame or blame, so wish me luck!

Sending all my love, as always!
