Dr. Jena Questen

Find your strength this week by remembering to always have perseverance and never give up. Be strong like the horses here at the ranch who all overcame their own difficult circumstances to finally find peace and comfort here, with us.

Watch our beautiful horses go through their usual routine, as a gentle reminder to never give up on your dreams, even on the hardest days. I sometimes wish I could go back in time and give my younger self these simple, honest thoughts on cultivating a daily practice of gratitude for a more resilient mindset.

Today I am grateful for the new volunteer Sally, who came yesterday and soaked up all the information we had to share about R+ horse training.

I am grateful for the wonderful bonding sessions I had with Natalia yesterday (although I still have not quite been able to get her to rear on cue like I would like).

I am grateful for my strong team of people who really care about our clients and their animals.

I am grateful for my comfy bed, my well running truck, clean water, privacy, and delivery pizza!

Grateful for my girls who are growing up to make me more proud every day, and my Mom who I miss so much.

I hope today, you too, will find something to be grateful for as you start this week. Maybe write it down and then go outside to ponder it under the Sturgeon full moon happening in 4 days. As a fish vet, I have tremendous admiration and awe regarding Sturgeon fish. If you don't know what these giant, ancient fish look like, I would encourage you to do yourself a favor and check them out, they are awesome!

And don't forget, YOU are also awesome, you Animal Loving Angel! If you love your so much you would do almost anything for another moment with them, then you my people, and you are in the right place. If you woke up today, your life has a meaning and purpose, no matter how difficult things may seem. So hang in there.

I know how hard it is. I have been there. Homeless with two little kids for 7 years. The vision of the ResqRanch is what kept me going. Find your vision, and stick to it, you can do this! I believe in you, the world needs you, and your compassion, in it.

Sending all my love, as always,

DrQ
